As a photographer, turn around times can be a tricky subject. For those who don't know, turn around time refers to how long it will take you to get the edited photos to your client after the shoot date. This can depend on how many different projects you are trying to manage at one time, or how many photos you would be editing for each project. There are some photographers who ask for as much as a month for a turn around time, whereas there are others who only need a few days to a week. For example, a small family portrait session where you're only edited 20-30 photos would take significantly less time then a wedding where you may edit hundreds. The other aspect to turn around times is your client. Some clients request a certain turn around time from the moment they book the shoot. For me personally, I always try to give myself two weeks for turn around time in case I have a particularly busy week. However, I always make sure to be very clear with my client why I ask for two weeks, and what my process is for getting them their photos. Most of the time I am able to go through and edit the photos in about a week, so when I send them to my client a week earlier then expected they are even more happy. What are some of your tips and tricks for turn around times?
