When you are getting ready for a shoot there is obviously a basic list of things all photographers bring with them. A camera, lens, extra SD cards and batteries, etc. However, a lot of photographers have their own special things they always bring with them to a shoot. This list is usually unique to the photographer and what type of photography they are doing, but I wanted to list some examples of things I always bring with me on my shoots. Firstly, a lot of my shoots are outdoors and dependent on natural lighting so I always bring a sun diffuser to help with any harsh lighting. This is a big sheer circle piece of fabric that helps lesson harsh shadows and highlights from the sun. However, whenever I have a studio shoot, or any other type of indoor shoot, I always bring my external flash incase the lighting isn't ideal at the place i'm shooting. I always make sure to have extra camera batteries and SD cards as well just in case. It's also always good to bring an extra camera, especially if you are working a big event. Always better to be safe then sorry. Lastly, I always bring business cards to give to my client before I leave the shoot so they can give them to anyone they know who may need a photographer in the future! What are some of your essentials for your shoots?
