Favorite Photography Spots In NYC

NYC has a reputation of being loud and extremely busy, which doesn't exactly make you think that it would be a great place for outdoor portrait photography. While there are some challenges that come with doing photography in the city there are still plenty of places to capture some absolutely beautiful photos. For example, there are plenty of parks throughout the city, and while they can get crowded if you don't time it right, there is a lot of potential with doing a portrait shoot in the park. Some of my personal favorites include Prospect Park in Brooklyn, Washington Square Park in Manhattan, and Madison Square Park (also in Manhattan). Additionally, there are also some beaches that you can shoot on such as Coney Island, Brighton, or Manhattan Beach. These are perfect places for any golden hour shoots you may have and offer a different feel compared to everyday park photos. Lastly, there are some really cool places that are unique to New York and are perfect for portrait photography. The most recent example I have for this was when I did a couples mini photoshoot at Janes Carousel in Dumbo Brooklyn and it was absolutely beautiful as the sun was setting.
